As our chapter is preparing for Formal Recruitment, our senior Alpha Chis are coming to realize this is the beginning of the end of their time as TCU undergrads. Although their time on campus may be coming to a close, we all know their dedication to Alpha Chi will never stop. This week, we want to recognize one of our senior sisters because of her constant dedication to the chapter. This week’s “Sister of the Week” goes to Alexandra Dekleva.
Alexandra, a senior majoring in Child Development with a minor in Education, has held several leadership positions in the chapter. When she was first slated, Alexandra acted as the chapter’s T-Shirt chair. Her biggest impact on the chapter came when she ran for our Fashion Show’s Retailers and Facilities Chair. For the past two years, she has secured outfits for our annual show and has helped the entire program run smoothly and efficiently. To read more about our last Fashion Show benefitting the Tarrant County Women’s Center read that blog post here. Alexandra also has acted as a Convention page representing the Iota Lambda on a national level.
When she is not spending her time working to better Alpha Chi, Alexandra is spending time with the Child Life Council or with the ministry of St. Andrew Catholic Church. She is also working as an instructor at Pure Barre Fort Worth, so if you are interested in working out with a fellow sister look for her on their schedule soon!
Over the summer, Alexandra spent lots of quality time with other Alpha Chis who stayed in the Fort. She is also finishing up her time as a leasing agent at University House. Currently, she is looking forward to her upcoming European vacation where she will see lots of her friends and family.
When asked why Alexandra should be “Sister of the Week,” the nominating sisters said “Alexandra is a beautiful girl, on the inside and out. I am so lucky to share this sisterhood with her because she is so passionate about everything she does. She has spent her time at TCU dedicating herself to our chapter and now it is her time to be in the spotlight.”
When Alexandra discovered she would be this week’s spotlighted sister, she said “It is such an honor to be thought of for Sister of the Week. Even though my time as a collegian is short, I could not be more in love with Alpha Chi Omega and I am so glad to maintain my connections in the sisterhood!”
Thank you, Alexandra for all that you have done and will do to represent our chapter. Keep up the good work and we all hope your senior year is your best year yet! To nominate a sister you think is worthy, contact Ashley Madonna for more information.
