Can you believe TCU’s Formal Recruitment is almost over? We sure can’t! We are so excited to welcome our newest pledge class of sisters this upcoming Friday for our fun filled Bid Day! One very special girl has received several “Sister of the Week” nominations and now it is time she is recognized for all of her hard work. This week’s spotlighted sister is Kaitlin Benardz.
Kaitlin, a junior Alpha Chi majoring in Speech-Language Pathology with a minor in Child Development, is this year’s Alpha Chi Chapter President! Before she obtained the throne, she acted as the executive position of VP of Ritual and Fraternity Appreciation. She is only half way done with her collegiate experience and has already made such an impact on our chapter. When she was asked about the extracurriculars she participates in, Kaitlin said “Alpha Chi Omega has become my life.”
Somehow she has found time to become involved in other activities. Kaitlin is a member of the NSSLHA, the National Student Speech-Language Hearing Association. She also loves babysitting and enjoys spending her free time with kids.
Kaitlin had an incredibly busy summer that started out with her traveling to Jamaica for a service trip with 12 other Alpha Chi Omega women. While the AXO group was there, they painted a school, built an addition to a local church, and even got to cliff jump for the first time. She also went on a six week family road trip that covered over 5,600 miles!
Here are a few of the wonderful things that the nominating sisters said about our president, Kaitlin:
One nominating sister said “I honestly do not know how Kaitlin does it. She has so many responsibilities but always has a cool head and a positive attitude. She has done such a great job leading our chapter and cannot wait to see what she will accomplish this next semester!”
Another nominating sister said “Kaitlin just makes her job look easy, which is no where near how I would describe her position as president. She goes out of her way to make sure everyone is happy and everyone’s voice is heard. She does so much so I feel she should be recognized for it.”
When Kaitlin found out she would be this week’s “Sister of the Week,” she said “Wow! Being nominated for Sister of the Week is such an incredible honor! Not even gonna lie, I’m totally blushing-ha! This chapter means everything to me! It’s provided me with all my best friends and has taught me more than I could ever ask for! Thank you!”
No, thank you, Kaitlin! Can’t wait to see how you thrive this semester! Check out our blog next week to learn more about how our Formal Recruitment and 2013 Bid Day went. We can’t wait to meet all of our new sisters and introduce them as our 2013 Alpha Chi Omega pledge class.
