Last week was full of fun times for the ladies of Alpha Chi! The Iota Lambda chapter enjoyed a sisterhood retreat with line dancing lessons at Billy Bob’s in the Fort Worth Stockyards. Everyone put on their cowboy boots and adorable Texas-themed sisterhood retreat shirts for the occasion. There was classic country music played such as “Cotton-Eyed Joe” as well as some pop music. Sophomore Tosca Scholfield-Johnshon said, “Everyone looked so cute in their cowboy boots stomping it out on the dance floor. This was definitely a sisterhood retreat to remember!” Tosca also said that along with the line dancing she really enjoyed seeing her sisters laughing with each other and truly having a bonding experience. Now that everyone knows how to line dance like a pro, we better be seeing Alpha Chi’s takeover at Billy Bob’s! Overall, it sounds like the sisterhood retreat was a huge success!
Another exciting event was our first mixer of the year! Alpha Chi Omega paired with Beta Theta Pi, got in the Valentine’s Day spirit and hosted the Cupid Shuffle Mixer last Thursday. Garland Davenport, a Freshman Alpha Chi, said “I had a great time dancing all night and bonding with my sisters! The venue and decorations were super cute and the DJ was great!” The venue was draped with pink and red decorations, white lights, and paper lanterns. The ladies of Alpha Chi along with their dates danced the night away, ringing in Valentine’s Day in style. Junior Laine B. had a great time at the mixer too: “I thought the Cupid Shuffle Mixer was one of the best mixers we’ve had as a chapter. Everyone dressed up in the cutest pink/red and love themed outfits; everyone just looked adorable! The venue was by far one of the coolest I’ve been to and made the party that much better!” A huge shout out to the Alpha Chi Social Chair, Alex Brower, for putting on the amazing event!
In addition to the mixer last week, Alpha Chi promoted Alpha Chi Omega’s Healthy Relationships Week against domestic violence by passing out candy around campus on Valentine’s Day. Good job PACEing ladies, keep on spreading that healthy AXΩ love!
