Over $55,000 Raised During AXΩ Annual Fashion Show

On Sunday, February 23rd, Alpha Chi Omega hosted its twenty-second annual Fashion Show philanthropy event. This year the Iota Lambda Chapter raised over $55,000 in donations! Over $47,000 was presented to the Tarrant County Women’s Center and another $8,000 was given to the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation. Everyone was blown away by the success and dedication that resulted from the Fashion Show event this year.

Over 80,000 women, children, and men use the services provided by the Tarrant County Women’s Center each year. Alpha Chi has been proud to support The Women’s Center since 1999. Over past years, our chapter’s contributions have paid for a sound/film room for minors to talk about their case with lawyers in a safe environment, a client lounge, a $10,000 scholarship to the Forever Campaign, and also provide the means to hire a social worker for a year. Through the donations collected from the Fashion Show, Alpha Chi Omega proudly continues to provide awareness, prevention, education, and assistance to domestic violence victims.

The Fashion Show takes place annually over mom’s weekend and is held at the Fort Worth Club in downtown Fort Worth. The afternoon included a silent auction and raffle, afternoon tea, the formal fashion show, and then the presentations to the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation and The Women’s Center. Members from various TCU fraternity and sororities, including two Alpha Chi seniors, all joined together to makeup the models; TCU’s mascot, Superfrog, even made an appearance on the runway! Local boutiques and clothing stores donated items to be worn by the models during the event as well. Silent auction items were donated by Alpha Chi Omega family members and businesses surrounding the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Popular jewelry designer, Kendra Scott, even had a booth at the fashion show donating 20% of all proceeds to The Women’s Center. The event wouldn’t have been possible without the generous donations and silent auction contributors, thank you!

Also, thank you for all of your hard work to the Fashion Show Chairs: Sarah Perez, Lauren Watt, Chelsea Jones, Miriam Tew, and Hannah Gill, along with their committees and Angels.

The Fashion Show was a great way to end off mom’s weekend. We hope that all family members that came to Fort Worth enjoyed their time spent with their loverly daughters! Alpha Chi’s and their mothers also enjoyed dinner at Joe T. Garcia’s on Friday, an AXΩ open house, and Painting with a Twist on Saturday. Thank you to everyone who contributed to such a successful and fun-filled weekend! It’s times like these that truly remind us about the importance and sisterhood of Alpha Chi, LITB!
