This past Sunday was our annual fashion show that we organize as a chapter in order to raise money for the Women’s Center of Tarrant County and for the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation. Men and women from other sororities and fraternities strutted their stuff down the runway in clothes from local stores around the DFW area. Our silent auction, that took place before the fashion show was a huge success and was organized by our very own Tierney Johnson. During the fashion show, Tierney expressed what a privilege it was to work as the silent auction chair. She said, “it was especially rewarding getting to know owners and managers of different businesses in the area and seeing them all come together to donate to our philanthropy.” We also had a table set up with a wide variety of Kendra Scott jewelry where girls could try on earnings and necklaces and purchase them if they want to.
We raised a total of $47,000 for the Women’s Center of Tarrant County and $7,000 for the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation. Both of the organizations were extremely grateful for all our hard work. The fashion show is our biggest event of the year and all our members love being apart of it. Julie Bolotin, a second semester sophomore says, “I remember the first time I heard about the fashion show during recruitment. I was in awe of how much money is raised from it.” Today, Julie is so proud to be apart of an organization that gives to such a great cause. We are excited as a chapter for next years fashion show and cannot wait to start planning it once again!
